William By Design is a fine gentleman’s salon in Seattle, WA. For more than 30 years, owner William had mastered the art of hair cutting and styling along with top-notch client experience at various salons in Washington and he was finally ready to build a men’s salon of his own.
William is an expert in his craft and wanted a brand that connected with the early 20th-century roots of men’s barber shops with a modern vision of exceptional service. He was building a relaxing, masculine space where men could experience a little luxury.
We began by agreeing on a set of reference imagery that captured the mood and style that would guide us throughout the process. I created a logo that references historical lettering and printing techniques merged with a clean, contemporary style. A dark, masculine color palette with gold accents and delicate geometric lines elevates the brand to a premium status while referencing historic Art Deco and Streamline design movements.
